Residence permit for self-employed persons, entrepreneurs (Start-up projects), highly qualified specialists and their family members:
- drawing of a residence permit for self-employed persons:
- consultants Italian companies,
- Board members Italian companies,
- drawing of a residence permit for self-employed owners of innovative Start-up projects,
- set up of a new & acquisition of a “ready-made company” with the subsequent drawing of an EU Blue Card for highly qualified specialists,
- status of permanent residence after 5 years of residence in the country,
- citizenship after 10 years in the country.
Conditions for obtaining a residence permit:
- sufficient financial resources,
- housing in Italy (long term rental or property),
- medical insurance,
- no threat to public order and security.
Residence permit for self-employed persons - consultants of Italian companies:
- contract with an Italian company is required, confirming the applicant's annual income of at least 8,500 euro. In practice, the amount of annual income should be not less than 18 thousand euro,
- residence permit is issued for a period of up to 2 years and is extended for a similar period, subject to the prolongation of the contract and confirmation of the fulfillment of obligations to pay taxes & to the social security fund,
- in one year after receiving a residence permit, after confirming the consultant’s sufficient income, the procedure for family reunification with the spouse and children under the age of 18 is possible.
Residence permit for members of the boards of directors of Italian companies:
- the company is required to be active for a period of at least 3 years (no loss, presence of employees and sufficient annual turnover for a member of the Board of Directors),
- a residence permit is issued for a period of up to 2 years and is extended for a similar period, provided that the company's financial indicators are maintained,
- one year after receiving a residence permit, after confirming sufficient income of a member of the Board of Directors, a procedure is possible for family reunification with the spouse and children under the age of 18 years.
Residence permit for self-employed owners of innovative Start-up projects.
Availability required:
- innovative business ideas
- a starting capital of at least 50 thousand euro,
- residence permit is initially issued for a period of 1 year and is extended for 2 years, provided that the innovative requirements for a company implementing a business idea are met,
- one year after receiving a residence permit, after confirming sufficient income of a member of the Board of Directors, a procedure is possible for family reunification with the spouse and children under the age of 18 years.
Residence permit for highly qualified specialists:
- set up of a new & acquisition of a “ready-made company” with the subsequent issuing of an EU Blue Card for highly qualified specialists.
Required:
- higher education received by the program of study duration of at least 3 years,
- diploma of higher education, confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy,
- employment contract for at least 1 year or indefinite,
- annual gross income in the amount of not less than 25,500 euro,
- residence permit is initially issued for a period of 2 years and is extended for 2 years subject to the extension of the contract and the preservation of income,
- family members (spouse and children under the age of 18) receive a residence permit with the right to work together with the holder of the EU Blue Card for the duration of the residence permit of the main applicant.
