Immigration consultant's notes. How to move to Australia with own Startup.

The Australian authorities are extremely interested in attracting qualified personnel from abroad. So if the founders of a startup have a desire to move to the sixth continent, it remains only to understand how much applicants meet the requirements for them from the local administration.

The main criteria are:

• the number of points scored by the candidate according to the score table of personal preferences (Points table). There must be at least 65,
• the results achieved by your existing business (annual turnover, share of ownership),
• the size of assets owned by you, the partner together or separately. The minimum bar is 800,000 AUD,
• applicant age. In general, the age should be less than 55 years.
• a prerequisite is the fact that an invitation must be received from the authorized state agency or trade commission responsible for the selection of candidates.

In general, the main applicants should have a successful business career and a sincere desire to constantly own and manage a business in Australia.

The holder of a visa (Business Innovation Stream) is entitled to:

• manage a new or existing business in Australia,
• reside in Australia for up to 4 years and 3 months,
• bring family members with you,
• apply for a permanent business visa (subclass 888), subject to certain requirements.

As a visa holder, you must:

• to have a significant stake in business in Australia,
• take part in the daily management of business at the highest level.

Participation in business should contribute to:

• increased business activity and competitiveness,
• development of business relations with international markets,
• job creation in Australia
• export of Australian goods,
• the introduction of new technologies,
• the production of goods and services that Australia would otherwise be forced to import.

The process of consideration of documents by the authorities is 12-15 months.

A slightly different visa option can be used to move to South Australia. But this will be discussed in the next publication.
